  1. I wouldn’t have a bagless vacuum. Bagged vacuums are far superior in suction. I have allergies, bagless vacuums allow dust and dirt to enter back into the air just by the action of emptying it. In conclusion for me at least a $50 bagged vacuum is far superior to a $250 bagless vacuum.

    1. Hello Karen,

First of all thanks for contacting me.

The bagged vs bagless discussion is a very tricky one. People tend to have different opinions when it comes to them. I can’t say that I totally agree with your opinion but I can’t say that I disagree with it.

If your vacuum cleaner has the right filters, it will just be a matter of preference. But when it comes to cheap models, I can agree with you that bagged ones are safer for people with allergies.

      Kind regards,
      Kevin

    2. I agree. I’ve had both, and every now and then, I’m tempted to buy a bagless. Then, I recall the misery of inhaling dust as I dump the canister. Ugh! A lot of the dirt is put into the air, which settles back onto the floor and furniture as the air is circulated.

      1. Dear M,

        Thank you for your input.

We all have different opinions and tastes.

It depends on your preference and needs. I prefer bagless vacuum cleaners.

However, bagged models provide some benefits that bagless don’t, especially about the hygienic or allergens.

Have a lovely day and stay safe.

        Kind regards,
        Kevin

  2. Why anyone would have a bagless vacuum is beyond me. I’ve had bagged and I’ve had bagless. With the bagless vacuum you feel like you have to vacuum again after you dump the canister. It’s messy. Bagged is the only way to go. Thank you for reviewing these vacuums.

    1. Dear Bulldog,

First of all thanks for contacting me.

This bagged vs bagless debate cannot be won by neither party. It is just a matter of preference and I try to be as objective as possible even though I also have my opinions.

However, what I can say without doubt is that regardless of the type of vacuum cleaner one prefers, filters make the difference. This being said, if you have a model with HEPA filters, you should have an easier life when cleaning the vac.

      Kind regards,
      Kevin

  3. I need to find the lightest, bagged, upright and allergy compliant vacuum with attachments. I am at a loss. I need it for my COPD/Asthmatic 94 year old parents.

    1. Dear Nancy,

First of all thanks for contacting me.

My best suggestion for you would be Oreck Magnesium LW1500RS. It is very lightweight and comes with HEPA filters.

Furthermore, it has a great cord length and 7 years warranty.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

      Kind regards,
      Kevin

    1. Dear Sandi,

First of all thank you for contacting me.

Unfortunately, no. Oreck doesn’t offer attachments for their upright models. However, this is a very nice vacuum cleaner and if you need one for just cleaning your floors than I would suggest you consider it.

Let me know if I can be of any other help.

      Kind regards,
      Kevin

  4. Help, I have a 20 year old Simplicity upright hepa bagged vacuum
and am looking for a new vacuum. It must be hepa bagged, I do NOT want a no-bag one. I was looking at the Kenmore Intuition but was told by a dealer (who does not have them) that I would regret it because it would be difficult to get parts to repair them. Is that true? sharonhouse8@gmail.com

    1. Dear Sharon,

First of all thanks for contacting me. Unfortunately, I must tell you that the dealer is right. As good as the Kenmore Intuition is, finding replacement parts is not an easy thing to do.

However, this is a very durable model and should not create any problems any time soon. So if you want it, I suggest you follow your ‘intuition’.

Now, if you are open to more options, I want to recommend you also check the Kenmore Elite. It is a more popular model, so parts are more easily found. It also is a bagged HEPA model.

      Hope this helps,

      Kind regards,
      Kevin

  5. You stated for the Bissell 2154A Canister Vacuum Cleaner that for a few dollars more you could get a superior vacuum. Which one would that be? I need a vacuum for my travel trailer that has carpet and bare flooring.

    1. Dear Cheryl,

First of all thanks for contacting me.

I think that for travel trailer the Bissell 2154A is a perfect choice. It is small, versatile and also comes at a more than great price.

      Kind regards,
      Kevin

    1. Dear Beverly,

First of all thanks for contacting me.

If you are referring to the S20PET model

I will say that they are good vacuum cleaners. They are bagless, have HEPA filters and offer a good value for money.

However, the model is kind of bulky and heavy. So, you might find it hard to maneuver it.

      Kind regards,
      Kevin

  6. It sounds like Miele canister vacuums are top performers. Does Miele make any upright (non-canister) models that you would recommend? I’m looking for a Hepa, bagged, upright vacuum that is good at cleaning a half tiled and half carpeted home (no pets as we have lots of allergies). I currently have a hose option on my current upright and like it, but I am willing to forgo that option for a better performing (for tile and carpet) and more reliable vacuum. (I noticed the Panasonic only has a 1 year warranty compared to Miele’s 7year warranty). Thank you for any additional recommendations!

    1. Dear Christy,

First of all thanks for contacting me.

Indeed, Miele is a premium brand that offers the best quality. That’s why they have better warranties and let’s face it, bigger costs.

Now, I know that you said that you have no pets, but I still wish to recommend you a model that would be suited even for pet owners. The reason for this is because it has the best filters and suction power. I am talking about the U1 model.

However, if you wish for a cheaper vacuum cleaner, I also support the Kenmore Elite 31150.

Let me know if I can be of any other help.

      Kind regards,
      Kevin

  7. Kevin,
My wife and I just purchased a new house. Before we moved in we had new carpets installed, After move-in I was attempting to vacuum the carpets, but it was very difficult because the carpet was being pulled up and we could not move the vacuum. We have a Shark liftaway Deluxe. we bought the upgraded pad that has a moisture barrier to prevent spills from going into the pad. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!
