  1. I have a coffee table that is marble on top. It was so heavy that it was left face down in the back of my truck on a blanket for about two months Because I could not find anyone to help carry it in. It took five people to carry the marble top in. After I got it in the house, it is dull and not shiny like the end tables that came with it. Do you have one of the products that you recommend to get the shine back? Thank you

  2. I found this article very helpful but decided to reach out to you because I am afraid to ruin my newly installed marbles in my bathroom shower. Unfortunately, the installers did a very poor job in applying the grout stain and smeared it on the surface of the marble around the grout edges. I am scared to ask them do clean it, as it seems that they should have taken better care in the application, or at least properly cleaned it, had they understood the potential damage they were causing in the first place. Therefore, I want to clean it myself. What product(s) do you recommend for this? Thanks much! I appreciate your help!

    1. Dear Kathleen,

First of all thanks for contacting me and for your kind words.

I would definitely go with the Black Diamond Stoneworks if I were you. It removes grout in a gentle way.

Please let me know if I can be of any other help.

      Kind regards,
      Kevin

  3. I am looking for a marble cleaner for cemetery headstones and marble mausoleums. I understand all thee products listed here are good for inside cleaning of countertops and floors, however, I work at a cemetery and often get asked what is the best for the cemetery headstones.
    Can you help me?

    1. Dear Pamela,

First of all thanks for contacting me.

I would suggest the Granite Gold for outside use.

It is suited for any outdoor marble, therefore it will be perfect for mausoleums and cemetery headstones.

      Kind regards,
      Kevin

  4. The marble tiles in our shower (mostly the floor) are stained with what appears to be a black mold. What is your advice?
    Thank you!

    1. Dear Susan,

Thanks for trusting my advice. Please read my detailed guide about cleaning the marble floors.

For a specific product, I would highly recommend the StoneTech 24 Oz. Marble cleaner for black mold. It’s a ready-to-use cleaner that won’t degrade shine.

Have a lovely day and stay safe.

      Kind regards,
      Kevin.

  5. I am wondering what product would fix stains that appear as “drips” down shower polished marble walls? Need something to remove the drips, marble still has the nice shine.

    1. Dear Julie,

      Thanks for reaching out.

StoneTech 3 Oz. Marble Cleaner works best for different stains, especially tough ones. It’s easy to use and cleans multiple surfaces, so you can use it for different purposes.

I would also recommend Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Multi-Surface Cleaner for regular cleaning, so you can prevent future stains. It removes stuck-on dirt and has a mild scent.

Last but not least, take a look at my guide about how to clean the marble floors. I hope you will find some more useful information for your cleaning tasks.

Have a nice day and stay safe.

      Kind regards,
      Kevin.

  6. What product do you recommend for cleaning a honed Carrara
marble shower – floor and walls? Can the same product be
used to clean the grout on a regular basis? Should the
marble be sealed before we move in?

We have chosen black honed granite countertops for
the kitchen. Again, which product do you recommend for
daily cleaning? I assume sealing should be done prior to use.

    Thank you!

    1. Dear Lucy,

Thanks for asking for my opinion.

A marble is a porous material. Porous meaning vulnerable to liquids. If you were to spill a glass of wine, the wine could seep through the surface of a marble floor and eventually cause it to stain or discolor.

So, yes, marble needs to be sealed before you move in and before use. You can use our top pick – Puracy 25 Oz. Marble Cleaner.

However, my go-to marble cleaner is Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Multi-Surface Cleaner because it’s super-versatile and budget-friendly.

Both products can be used on grout but Black Diamond Stoneworks 32 Oz. Marble Cleaner does wonders for grout, so you can check that too!

Have a lovely day and congrats on your new home!

      Kind regards,
      Kevin.

  7. i have a marble floor under and around my wood burning stove. At some time, it was waxed, it is very yellow and regular cleaning will not remove the wax. Do you know of anything I can clean it with?

    1. Dear Gladys,

First of all, thank you for your comment.

Marble floors are an investment worth protecting. Of course, you need to strip the wax off the floor before any marble cleaning can occur.

Mix an ammonia-based wax stripper with warm water in a gallon bucket. There are many different types of wax strippers available on the market. Make sure that you select a cleaning solution that is specifically designed for cleaning marble.

Closely follow the label instructions to add the appropriate amount of water to dilute the wax stripper. If you fail to dilute the wax stripper properly, you could damage your marble floor.

Dip the scrub brush into the cleaning solution’s bucket and scrub the entire surface of the marble floor. Rinse the floor with clean, warm water and a clean, cotton mop.

Try this method and tell me if it works. If it’s not successful, contact me again and we’ll figure it out together. Please read my new article about cleaning the marble floor and finding out if it can help you clean your floors.

Have a lovely day and stay safe.

      Kind regards,
      Kevin.

  8. Hi Kevin!

I have white/gray marble countertops in the kitchen and bathroom vanities. They definitely were polished maybe 10 years ago and have not been polished since. There’s a good amount of etching but some areas that are still somewhat shiny. I’m wondering do I need to polish first? Or is it okay to use one of your recommended cleaner products directly? Do you have a polishing one you recommend? Thank you!

    1. Dear Lucy,

      Thank you for your comment.

First and foremost, it’s not recommended to utilize polish on your marble. Not only can it damage the surface, but marble is so smooth that a polished floor can be super slippery.
Instead, use some of the marble cleaners reviewed in this article. Puracy 25 Oz. Marble Cleaner is one of the best marble cleaners on the market. It’s easy to use and 100% safe. If you’re on a budget, opt for the Bio-Clean 20 Oz. Marble Cleaner. It’s super-versatile, effective, and affordable.

Have a lovely day and stay safe.

      Kind regards,
      Kevin.
